Guillermo Roux
Guillermo Roux (1929–2021) was an internationally acclaimed Argentine painter, masterfully celebrated for his surrealistic watercolors, complex collages, and prominent frescoes. Born to Uruguayan illustrator Raúl Roux, he honed his craft at the Buenos Aires School of Fine Arts and refined his skill restoring historical projects in Rome.
His surreal, theatrical compositions—rich in harlequins, theatrical players, and geometric shapes—have received prestigious global accolades, including the international prize at the XIII São Paulo Art Biennial and the Konex Award. Today, his works reside in world-class collections such as the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC.
